Ujjain- Indore- Omkareshwar- Maheshwar- Jabalpur- Bhedaghat- Varanasi
Ujjain and Omkareshwar. The energy in these places is at a different level altogether.
Maheshwar- is a gem of a village. Ahilyabai Holkar's stamp is all over the place. It the most prosperous village that I've seen. The architecture of the Holkar palace (wada) and the fort and the temple on the ghat is amazingly beautiful. A must visit location if travelling in MP. If a movie needs to be made its on Ahilyabai Holkar's life.
Bhedaghat and Duandhar falls- Serene and hauntingly beautiful.
Indore - The cleanest city in the country and an absolute heaven for vegetarians. The Sarafa night bazar made even someone like me who is totally disinterested in food become a foodie for a night.
Varanasi- The chaos in Varanasi (UP) is another level altogether. The two wheeler riders here need to be given an award for driving the way they drive. It was a miracle that in the 4 days that I was here, I did not witness a single accident. Not even a case of road rage. The street food here especially the sweets are mouthwatering. Though I had apprehensions about travelling to UP alone, (it was my first trip to UP), the people in Varanasi are helpful.
PS: UP waalon : You do NOT throw garbage out of your windows in the narrow streets outside. Also, I was absolutely shocked and amazed by your pan spitting abilities.
Har Har Mahadev!!
